About the artist

HOW IT ALL STARTED…

Vera Conley is a multidisciplinary photographic artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Virginia. Following a successful career in the high-tech industry, she returned to photography as her primary creative pursuit. Bringing an analytical sensibility to her practice, she combines rigorous inquiry with a drive to explore and innovate in the execution of her artistic vision. Through the reexamination of existing constructs, her work invites a contemplative, meditative response from its viewers.

Conley was named Long Exposure Photographer of the Year by the Minimalist Photography Awards in 2021. Her work has been recognized by the International Photography Awards, Architecture Masterprize, Minimalist Photography Awards, Prix de la Photographie Paris, Tokyo International Foto Awards, and the ND Awards. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her work is held in private and corporate collections across North America.
