NEW WORK

Winter time is a fabulous time for winter photography in Hokkaido, Japan. The climate and snow drifts create an atmosphere ideal for creating minimalist images. I had the fortune to travel there this February. I am enjoying editing and creating new works from here. The conditions were such that the images don’t require much as the scenes were near perfect in person. Take a peek.

upcoming

I’m thrilled to have one of my new works chosen for the upcoming international 2024 Members’ Juried Exhibition. My image “Chatter” will be shown in the online gallery and printed in the exhibition catalog. There were over 2600 submissions from around the world and only 90 images were selected. This exhibition was juried by the distinguished Catherine Couturier.

The opening reception is on Saturday, April 20, and the show will be on view from April 20 through June 2, 2024, at the Center for Photographic Art in beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. A place worthy of a visit. ;-)

I will share more as we approach the event.

Living with art around us

In our digital age, most of our information and entertainment consumption is undoubtedly from an online source. We are constantly scrolling or swiping, hardly noticing much because everything is moving at warp speed. This is a central motivation for me in creating my art— it’s my way to resist, create an outlet, and allow time to slow down even for a moment. As you may know, I am passionate about my printmaking. I believe that prints give one an enriched experience completely different from how you peruse in digital form. I recently redesigned my print store and hope you’ll give it a gander or visit my gallery. You might imagine one hanging on your wall at home or in your workplace.
